Henk and Family
Juliana, at 8 months, is learning to crawl. First
she did the army crawl, which she still uses as her second gear. Her slow speed is
the standard crawl, with a twist. On slippery surfaces, she crawls like her big
sister did - one leg tucked underneath. On the rug, she does a standard crawl, but
her legs still get all twisted up and her bum ends up in the air. Notice her little paintbrush on the top of her head, to keep bangs out of her eyes! Not a curl in this hair! |
|
Juliana went on a field trip with her brother in mid March. It was
the first warm day of the year, and so far, the last! Juliana had fun looking at the
animals.
Juliana has her own basket of toys in the kitchen. Of course, the cupboards are more interesting, but the toys are fun to dump out. |
|
King Tut curls up on Henk's lap every night. He is a cute dog, if we
can just train him to stop switching his toys with the baby's.
Lizzy had to dress up and do an oral report on a biography. Lizzy did a great job as Laura Ingels Wilder, wearing a calico dress, white apron, sunbonnet (hanging down the back, like Laura), and brown braids. She did well in front of the class.

International Day at church. Lizzy wore a Spanish costume from my father's providence in Spain - Galecia. The outfit was one I wore at her age.
Stevie made a "bobsled" for Juliana. Here she comes! |
|
Juliana is wearing a snow outfit her big sister once wore! It is way
too big, but it is toasty warm and suffices nicely. Watch out world, here he comes! Stevie and Henk had the time of their lives snowmobiling if February. Stevie is actually driving this thing. |
|
Too short to see over the windshield, Stevie apparently did a great job steering his way around the course. He first rode on Henk's lap, then took the controls over with Henk's guidance. With soaring confidence, he got a chance to drive by himself.
Snow play! Lizzy, in the pink scarf, stops for a brief moment so we could get a picture. The kids had so much fun, and the weather was beautiful while we were there!
They built a sled run in the front of the cabin and spent hours outside. Lizzy and Stevie are halfway up the course.
There was snow during the drive up, and during the night, so on the first morning we had to dig ourselves out, our car is the one in front.
Happy snowbunnies! Lizzy, and Stevie with their friends, Sarah, Stephanie, .
Ana is always behind the camera, for good reason. Henk grabbed it
and got a picture of her eating (does she do anything else?!). We went cross country
skiing with Dana and Sarah Maresh, and Stephanie Allen. The kids did a great job,
and went over 8 miles. The next day, we went for a short run before turning the skis in, and Juliana went on Henk's back. She loved it, chattering away most of the time, then fell asleep. |
